Job Description:
Responsible for driving growth of Quectel’s Automotive business within the eastern half of US. Position reports to Vice President of Sales and will work in tandem with North American Regional Sales Managers and sales representative network. Candidate will be responsible to drive Cellular, GNSS, WiFi/BT, CV2X , UWB and Antenna Solutions into Automotive OEM and Tier1’s across the eastern US. Fast paced position that will require focus and analytical approach to sales. Prior experience selling components into the Automotive market is required. Position based in Greater Detroit area.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Automotive Account Management
- Working with VP of Sales, directly drive new and existing relationships and opportunities with key Automotive OEM’s and Tier1’s
- Research and penetrate new automotive accounts to drive Quectel Cellular, GNSS, CV2X, UWB, WiFI/BT and Antenna solutions.
- Work cross-functionally with VP of Sales, Product Management, R&D and FAE teams to manage complex Automotive programs. Support and drive RFI/RFP activities at OEM and Tier1’s.
Automotive Competitor Account Outreach:
- Investigate publicly available information on prospective customers that currently use competitors’ modules (competitor accounts) and actively grow sales funnel with the assistance of sales and marketing colleagues and industry ecosystem partners
- Qualify and reach out to leads to set roadmap meetings, introduce Quectel’s portfolio, and organize next steps which include sending an evaluation kit and a price quote
- Maintain Automotive funnel of prospective customers and ensure they move through the sales process of Customer Acquisition, Technical Evaluation, and Design Win.
Automotive support of NA Team:
- Candidate will be subject matter expert on all things Automotive
- Lead, coach, and train field teams on Automotive products, roadmap, and features
- Work cross-functionally with management, sales, product management and R&D to support customer requirements and new market verticals
- Assist in managing key Automotive partners within North America.
Qualifications:
- 5 year’s experience in Sales and/or customer facing position
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred
- Must live in the Greater Detroit area
- Existing Automotive experience a must. Cellular Module experience is a plus
- Dynamic, self-motivated, hardworking professional who thrives in a very fast paced environment. Must have sense of urgency in all aspects of daily job
- Strong oral, written, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Salesforce, Sales Funnels, Sales Cycle understanding is a plus.
