Maximize connectivity choice without installation complexity
Combo antennas typically bring together multiple antennas and their capabilities within a single unit. Although relatively complex to develop, they provide simplicity for installers because only a single mounting is required. As devices increasingly require multiple radios and smaller form factors, OEMs need greater flexibility at the design phase to get their products to market quickly. The enormous variety between different models can make selection a complex process – but one which must be undertaken carefully for solution builders to achieve the best results from their IoT device designs.
Adoption has traditionally been held back by cost – innovative vendors however are spreading the cost of development across far larger customer bases and introducing re-usable form factors, bringing the costs of development and manufacture down and making them accessible to a new range of users.
Fitting different technologies into a confined space is not trivial and the complexity of ensuring that antennas perform optimally without causing interference, excessive power consumption or periods of poor performance is a critical concern in product development. Specialized developers have the experience and skills to design antennas that fit into unified form factors but do not cause interference.
Quectel has taken its extensive experience of antenna design and development from the embedded antennas market and applied it to combo antennas. Utilizing our research and development expertise and efficient manufacturing capabilities, we have developed combo models that include all possible antenna types which have been fully-tested and isolated from each other.
