SpaceAge Labs – connecting sensors and meters to the IoT with Quectel’s reliable LPWA modules
“Quectel modules could offer multi-band support for NB-IoT, LTE Cat M1 and EGPRS with flexible global connectivity options, which enables us to sell the same devices for multiple use cases in multiple geographies,” said Deepak Pitta, CEO of SpaceAge Labs, an IoT solutions and end-to-end IoT platform provider in Singapore.
As an award-winning full stack IoT company, SpaceAge Labs is dedicated to helping companies improve operations and maintenance of remote and distributed assets using sensors, wireless connectivity and advanced software technologies such as data analysis and machine learning.
rEye IoT Adaptor, designed by SpaceAge Labs, is a rugged industrial grade wireless transmitter that can read data from any sensor, meter or machine with standard serial, analog or digital signals (RS485/Modbus RTU, 4-20mA, 0-5V, 0-10V, Dry Contact, Pulse, RTD /PT100/PT1000) and transfer the data wirelessly to the internet via Low Power Wide Area Networks (LPWAN) such as NB-IoT/LTE Cat M1.
Based on Qualcomm’s MDM9206 modem, Quectel BG96 is a series of global multi-mode LTE Cat M1/NB-IoT/EGPRS modules with integrated GNSS. Featuring ultra-low power consumption, BG96 is ideal for rEye IoT Adaptor when deployed in outdoor environments and hard-to-reach locations. The module’s global frequency band coverage ensures that the device can be used for IoT applications in a wide range of industries, such as smart metering, pump motor condition monitoring, air quality monitoring and more.
“Maintenance and operational cost are major challenges for the adoption of IoT in industrial applications,” said Mr. Kenny Lau, Regional Sales Manager in Singapore & Malaysia. “SpaceAge Labs has completely utilized the advantages of Quectel’s NB-IoT/Cat M1/EGPRS module and incorporated it into their rEye IoT Adapter to reach a compact size, low power and wireless product suitable for global M2M market applications.”
SpaceAge Labs has also developed the remoteEye IoT Cloud Platform, which is a scalable, secure cloud-based software that can be used to manage devices, store the sensor data, build analytics/dashboards and send email/sms/whatsapp notifications.
